Notes
(A) I can't blame Barb when she says her cup is full and that she can't deal with anymore chaos. There is so much continually going on in Big Love it is amazing. In this episode they sailed by a bomb threat and a roadside stop in Mexico by masked vigilantes (as far as I could tell). Those could be climatic plot points in any other show, but Big Love is its own show.
There is so much, as I continually say, jammed into each episode. I was absolutely shocked when Lois chopped Hollis Greene's arm off with a machete. That was an OMG moment.
I thought that the Mexico trip was going to be a bonding moment for Joey and Bill, but it was anything but. Despite ending up back-to-back with guns-a-blazing the two had a falling out. Joey's situation, meaning the fact that Joey murdered Roman, seems like Bill's next fire to put out.
I am really concerned about this J.J.'s son, "the doctor." He seems as sinister as Alby. I get the feeling this doctor is doing something very improper. I also get the feeling that whatever he is doing is going to make Nicki and her mom very, very sick. As in the same kind of sick as J.J.'s wife that is in a wheel-chair and that sports a horrible black wig. Will Barb now have to take care of Nicki in the hospital?
One thing of particular note in this episode that I noticed was the music. I thought it was wonderful, reckoning of a western shootout. The music that was used when Ben was reunited with the family was also quite good. I don't usually note the music in this show, but I thought it was used effectively in this episode.
It looks like Ana and her boyfriend may become regulars on the show now that Margene decided to get married to prevent them from leaving the country. I could see some good comedy coming out of this.
This season of Big Love has been great so far... this is the best it has ever been.
