Description
Having performed shamefully in the arena against Crixus, Spartacus is forced to fight in the Pits. Batiatus, determined to profit from Spartacus, may be at risk if his debts aren't repaid.

Notes
(A) This show has settled in really well. The first few episodes went overkill on the special effects and slow motion blood spatter effect (which is kind of annoying at this point), but now it is really settling down into its storyline.

This episode was great. Spartacus earning his keep. The story definitately threw me for a loop when Spartacus offered to die in the pits in exchange for his wife's safety. Obviously Spartacus couldn't die, but I really did not know how they were going to get him out of that predicament.

I hope to see many more episodes like this rather than ones similar to the pilot.
